Amid the continuous rise in cases of covid-19, SS Sandhu, Uttarakhand’s Chief Secretary issued fresh guidelines on late Friday night. All political rallies and protests are restricted in the area till January 16. Another restriction was imposed on schools by closing them till January 16 up to the Class XII. Classes can only take place through online mode.
Closure of swimming pools and water parks have also been ordered. Like wise, a ban has been imposed on public events – educational, cultural and entertainment. Only 50% capacity is allowed in cinema halls, shopping malls, spa, salons, gyms, entertainment park, theatres and auditorium. Stadium and sports grounds are allowed to function with 50 per cent capacity.
Only 50 per cent capacity is allowed in marriage ceremonies and funerals, according to the venue. Hotels, restaurants and dhabas have been given permission to operate at 50 per cent capacity. Night curfew in the Himalayan state would continue from 10pm to 6am and the shops would remain open from 6am to 10pm. People of other states coming to Uttarakhand without being administered both doses of vaccine would be required to produce RTPCR negative report which should be of less than 72 hours at the time of arrival.
