Puneeth Rajkumar, Kannada superstar took his last breath on Friday. Reportedly he passed away due to fatal cardiac arrest. The Kannada superstar, Puneeth is known for films such as “Appu”, “Veera Kannadiga” and “Maurya.” The kannada superstar was working out in the gym when he fall down, he was immediately rushed to a hospital. Later on, he was admitted to Vikram Hospital. Puneeth was receiving treatment in the ICU and the news came out that he is no more. Entire film fraternity and his family was shaken after hearing the news of his sudden demise. Closed ones of the late actor were seen reaching the hospital. He was 46 yeat old.
“At the time of arrival to the emergency, the patient was non-responsive and was in cardiac asystole. Hence, immediate advanced cardiac life support measures were initiated for resuscitation,” said the hospital.
Elder brother of Puneeth, Shiva Rajkumar and other family members reached hospital. Yash, Darshan, and many others too reached soon after. CM of Karnataka was also present at the moment.
Chetan Kumar Ahimsa, tweeted and informed that eyes of Puneeth are donated just like his father. He tweeted, “While I was at hospital to see Appu Sir, a medical group came to remove his eyes in 6-hour window after death. Appu Sir – like Dr Rajkumar & @NimmaShivanna – donated his eyes,” the actor tweeted, urging everyone to donate “following in their footsteps & in Appu Sir’s memory”.
Amitabh Bachchan paid a tribute to Puneeth on his blog and on Twitter. Big B wrote about “two deaths of the near and dear” – one of them being the Kannada star. He wrote: “There have been two deaths of the near and dear since the morning and there is a grief that cannot be put in words…one of them… the news has been shocking…Puneet Rajkumar, the younger son of the legendary icon of Kannada cinema, RajKumar and a star in his own right, passed away today… he was just 46 years, and this has put all of us in great shock…the family of late RajKumar have ever been extremely close…My prayers condolences.”
Grieving fans were seen outside Bengaluru’s Kanteerava Stadium on Friday evening. They gathered to pay the last respects to their hero. As per the order from state government, last rites of actor will be performed at the Kanteerava Studio where his parents’ Dr Rajkumar and Parvathamma were cremated.
