The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested eight people in connection with drugs which included Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan. On Saturday night, the NCB raided a Goa-bound cruise ship off during the party and found drugs.
After going through medical tests, they will be presented before the court, on Monday. Aryan Khan with Arbaaz Merchant, his friend and Munmun Dhamecha, a fashion designer were sent to NCB custody after being presented before a magistrate court. The names of other accused includes, Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Singh Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra and Vikrant Chhokar.
On Sunday afternoon, Aryan who is 23 year old was arrested for illegal consumption of drugs. Several sections have been imposed by Narcotics Control Bureau. Cases have been registered under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. NCB has found cocaine of 13 gm, Charas or hashish of 21 gm, 22 pills of Ecstasy (MDMA), mephedrone of 5gm and 1.33 Lakh rupes cash was seized at International Cruise Terminal, Green Gate Mumbai. A Delhi based company organised the party on that cruise.
Satish Maneshinde, lawyer of Aryan Khan said that Aryan was invited to the cruise party. He further said “However, he did not have a boarding pass. He didn’t have any seats or cabins there. Secondly, according to the seizure, nothing has been found in his possession. He is arrested only based on chats.”
Lawyer of Aryan Khan said the he will apply for bail application on Monday. Sameer Wankhede, NCB zonal director, said that, “Khan and others were on the cruise ship where the agency busted a rave party.”
Jurgen Bailom, the president and CEO of Cordelia Cruise, “The agency called us to understand the procedure of crew operation and we are cooperating with the NCB. There were around 1,000 passengers when the ship left from the Mumbai coast,” he said. “Our ship has not been detained, it has gone for its destination and will return on Monday. We were not aware of the guests who were on the ship as organisers are different,” said while recording the statement to NCB.
On Sunday, SN Pradhan, the NCB chief said that the bureau is looking at a ‘Bollywood connection’ and a larger nexus of narcotics. He told PTI that, “There is a Bollywood connection and we are investigating all angles of the case. We are looking at the main supplier and the entire cartel behind this drugs case.” He said that investigation will be done through proper channel.
Remand will end on Monday, and NCB has decided that they will not ask for further custody of Aryan Khan. Officials said that the offence is bailable.
