Ever since the trailer of the multi-lingual movie Thalaivi was released, Kangana’s fans have been eagerly waiting to watch the movie. The film has already been delayed but is finally able to see the light of the day as its release date approaches.
The biopic on former actress and Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalitha is all set to release on the big screen on 10th September throughout the nation, but it seems like the movie has hit another roadblock. Many major multiplex chains are reluctant to screen the movie and as they are unable to accommodate the movie in their schedule over the lesser time window between theatrical release and OTT release on Netflix.
India’s top two Multiplex chains have already decided not to premiere the Hindi Version of Thalaivii. The two chains are Inox and PVR.
Kangana on her part has said that this is unfair. In a long and detailed story on her Instagram, the national award winner said that the theatres are ganging up against her film. She tagged Inox and PVR in her post and said that they are these chains are themselves on the ventilator but still, they are resorting to bullying, harassment and ganging up.
She said, “Simply explains why they are in this state in the first place …. Hope better sense prevails content makers have too many options to showcase their work but we need to multiplexes support to save them ….”
In a previous story, she pointed out that how these multiplexes have different rules when it comes to big films.
She exclaimed that, “they released Radhe simultaneously on ott and theatres. They have released Master with 2 weeks window, releasing Hollywood movies with simultaneous OTT release in the US, but refusing to screen even the South of THALAIVII which have a 4 weeks window.”
Earlier she urged her fans to watch the movie in single screen theatres and boycott these chains completely.
