On Tuesday,a special cell of Delhi police arrested pak based terrorist from the capital of the country. Ahead of festive season, they were planning a major attack in Delhi. The terrorist nabbed is identified as Mohammad Asraf alias Ali, from the area, Laxmi Nagar Ramesh Park. He was living in Delhi’s Shastri Nagar with a fake ID of Indian. As per source, he is from Pakistan’s Punjab province. Provisions under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Explosive Act, Arms Act have been imposed on the terrorist.
ANI said, “Delhi Police Special Cell arrests a terrorist of Pakistani nationality from Ramesh Park, Laxmi Nagar. He was living with a fake ID of an Indian national. One AK-47 assault rifle with one extra magazine and 60 rounds, one hand grenade, 2 sophisticated pistols with 50 rounds seized.”
Rakesh Asthana, Delhi Commissioner of Police said, “It is a good catch by special cell ahead of the festive season. A big terror plan has been foiled by our team.”
ANI reported that terrorist were arrested with AK-47 assault rifle and a hand grenade were recovered during possession. Mohd Asraf is been identified as resident if Punjab in Pakistan. A search operation was ongoing in the area. Three days ago, Rakesh Asthana, Delhi Police Commissioner held a meeting regarding the input of terror attacks in capital of the nation during festive time. They also discussed about how to prevent terrorists from taking support of locals.
Earlier, in the encounter, three terrorist were killed in Shopian of Jammu and Kashmir. The terrorists belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
