On Monday, Scott Morrison, Prime Minister of Australia, announced that students, workers and travellers on working will be allowed to enter into the land from December 1. Travel ban will be removed and they can come at Sydney and Melbourne airports.
Scott Morrison said, “From December 1, 2021, fully-vaccinated, eligible visa-holders can come to Australia without needing to apply for a travel exemption. Eligible visa holders include skilled and student cohorts, as well as humanitarian, working holiday maker and provisional family visa holders.”
He further said, “The return of skilled workers and international students to Australia will further cement our economic recovery, providing the valuable workers our economy needs and supporting our important education sector.”
A statement by the Australian government said, full vaccinated people and visa holders that includes students and skilled workers and now go to Australia without needing to apply for a travel exemption.
On Monday, an ease was put to the strict pandemic travel restrictions. This move will helo lot of Indian students and workers.
It said the visitor will have to be fully vaccinated with a “completed dosage” of a vaccine approved or recognised by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration and hold a valid visa for one of the eligible visa subclasses.
Within three days of departure, visitors will have to submit the vaccination proof and provide a negative test report of Covid. The statement said travellers must comply with the quarantine requirements in the territory of their arrival.
PM Scott Morrison told reporters in Canberra, “The return of skilled workers and students to Australia is a major milestone in our pathway back.”
