Australia officially recognised Covaxin produced by Bharat Biotech. Covaxin was added to the list of vaccines registered by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia. This move will ease the travelling status across the India.
Addition of chinese company Sinopharm’s Covid vaccine BBIBP-CorV has been done in the list of covid-19 vaccines. This recognition, the TGA says, is for travellers aged 12 and over who have been vaccinated with Covaxin, and those 18 to 60 who have been vaccinated with BBIBP-CorV.
Additional information and essential data was received and it proved the fact that these vaccine will provide protection and reduce the spread of deadly corona virus in Australia, says TGA.
Now, India’s both vaccines have been recognised by Australia. Along with India, Coronavac & BBIBP-CorV of China have also been added to the list.
Mauritius, Oman, Philippines, Nepal, Mexico, Iran, Sri Lanka, Greece, Estonia & Zimbabwe are the countries that have recognised Covaxin.
Covaxin is the vaccine made by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – National Institute of Virology (NIV). It is the first indigenous Covid-19 vaccine of India.
