Late on Tuesday night, The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) directions said that all the public and private schools, colleges and educational institutions in NCR will remain closed until the further notice. Only online mode of education is allowed.
Till November 30, only five out of 11 thermal power plants in the 300 km radius of Delhi NTPC, Jhajjar; Mahatma Gandhi TPS, CLP Jhajjar; Panipat TPS, HPGCL; Nabha Power Ltd. TPS, Rajpura and Talwandi Sabo TPS, Mansa will operate.
Construction work in the area of Delhi NCR is ordered to be stopped till 21 November. The commission restricted the railway services/railway stations, metro rail corporation services, including stations, airports and inter-state bus terminals (ISBTS) and national security/defence-related activities/ projects of national importance subject to strict compliance of the C&D Waste Management Rules and dust control norms.
Till Sunday, trucks carrying non-essential items are banned to enter Delhi in order to maintain air pollution levels. Till Sunday, at least 50% of staff is allowed in the offices in NCR as per the directions by NCR state governments. The panel said that the industries still using unapproved fuels should be closed by the government. A ban should be imposed on the use of DG sets.
Diesel vehicles of 10-15 years old should not be found on the road as per the order by authorities in NCR. Work from home has been ordered for all the government offices, agencies and autonomous bodies, except the people in essential services.
