On Thursday, a school teacher and it’s principal was killed by terrorists in Srinagar. The incident took place in Eidgah area in the government school. The staff raised concern for their security and members of community who are minosr. Attacks are increasing daily in the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. 5 civilians were also killed in the incident within 2 days. ISIS and LeT took the responsibility of the attack.
Satinder Kour of 50 year, principal of government school and Deepak Chand, teacher of the same school were killed inside the school. This incident left the families of people in shock. Satinder Kour has two children and her husband while Deepak Chand lived with his parents, wife and his daughter.
As the news spread, all the relatives and friends reached at the home of principal.Mother of dead principal, said “She left for school feeling very happy this morning. Hours later, her lifeless body has reached home. Why didn’t the gunmen kill me? I am an old woman. Why did they cut her life short?”
In Chanpora, a 52 year old teacher, “This lady would help several orphan Muslim students. She was very humble and ready to help everyone.”
Cousin of Chand, Vicky Mehra said, “What can I say… whatever has happened is due to system failure. The system is in deep slumber, they cannot do anything. Tomorrow again someone will be killed and there shall be mourning in that house. The entire family tends to die with that person.” He further said, “See his (Chand’s) wife and mother. How will they live now? He had a three-year-old daughter. Can’t they (government) stop all this… We have been targeted for the last 30 years and are still receiving threat calls.” Ajay Kumar, another cousin of the deceased teacher, “I spoke to him on Wednesday evening. The news of his killing this morning shook me from inside. I saw his photos on the internet and called his number but the line was busy.” He further added,“When another family member called on his number, the receiver said we may meet the same fate if we dared to visit Kashmir.”
