The COVID – 19 epidemic has taken a serious charge on countless lives which filled people with extreme sorrow and misery. And youngsters are the most affected ones. Especially those who have lost both of their parents or guardians. This pandemic created a riot in the number of orphans.
A gentleman from Dheradun, Jai Sharma who is a social worker himself is determined to espouse hundreds of childrens who have been orphaned due to pandemic.
He is the initiator of JOY (Just Open Yourself) who planned to brace these little ones until they are competent to support themselves.
Jai Sharma said in one of his Facebook posts “when the second wave of COVID – 19 started, we encountered five such families in the initial two weeks where both the parents had died, and the child/children were left alone at home. A few of these children were of classes 4th – 5th age group, one was in 12th, and the rest were small in age. At that moment, it hit our mind that this unfortunate scenario is inevitable, and we were to come across more such cases as the pandemic Rose.” The focus is to safe keeping and supervise these youngsters.
He later mentions that right now they have already taken the responsibility of protecting twenty childrens.
They further added “within a week, we will be completing our target of adopting 50 children, followed by 100 children eventually. I, Jai Sharma from JOY, am there to support these children by any means possible, till the time they become self – sufficient!”
The JOY group is continuously approaching several villages for supporting children who have now become orphans.
Jai Sharma, founder of JOY has been dedicatedly helping in providing the sufficient help required from the start of the pandemic crises. The NGO has been helping out people by providing free oxygen cylinders.
People like him are the hope for a better future who are ready to provide a helping hand to the ones who need them in times of crises. If we all try to help each other even with small gestures it can do real wonders.
